Boasts experience (three-year starter) and physical tools (6-5, 260 pounds with exceptional athletic ability) to be a dominant defensive end in his final collegiate season ... must overcome offseason shoulder surgery and the emergence of sophomore Olawale Dada to maintain his starting role as a senior ... missed all of spring practice due to the shoulder injury and will battle with Dada for the starting role in fall camp.

2013: Saw action in all 12 games, including 10 starts at defensive end ... led Appalachian State’s defensive linemen with 45 tackles on the season ... ranked second on the team with seven tackles for loss and led the squad with seven quarterback hurries ... racked up six tackles, including 1.5 for loss, and forced a fumble in home-opening loss to North Carolina A&T ... tallied six stops and a QB hurry against Charleston Southern ... turned in the best performance of his career with nine tackles, including 3.5 behind the line of scrimmage (both career highs) and a sack in App State’s 38-14 dismantling of No. 24-ranked Georgia Southern ... was slowed down the stretch by a shoulder injury that required offseason surgery ... made just seven tackles over the final four games, including zero in limited minutes during the season finale versus Western Carolina.

2012: Appeared in 11 games, making seven starts at the “rush” end/linebacker position … tied for eighth on the squad with 39 total tackles … four-and-a-half tackles for loss were also good for a tie for eighth on the team … tied for fourth on the team with three quarterback hurries … tied for fifth on the squad with two pass breakups … burst out of the gates with 25 tackles, including three behind the line of scrimmage over the first four games of the season (at East Carolina, vs. Montana, vs. The Citadel, at Chattanooga) … had six stops with 1.5 tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry in season opener at ECU … tallied a career-high eight tackles, including one for loss, in home-opening win over Montana … made six stops in Week 3 loss to The Citadel and five in the following week’s win at UTC … made just 14 more tackles the rest of the season with no more than three in any game … production was limited over the second half of the season by a knee injury sustained in Oct. 6 win over Elon … sat out of the following week’s triumph at Samford due to the injury … best performance of the second half of the campaign came in season-ending playoff loss to Illinois State, when he recorded three tackles, a half-tackle for loss, a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup.

2011: Appeared in all 12 games as a true freshman, including eight starts at left defensive end … after tallying just two tackles in his first two games, made his first-career start in week three against Savannah State and responded with four tackles, including 2.5 for loss and two sacks, to go along with a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry … managed just four tackles with none for loss over the next three games … after a week out of the starting lineup, returned to the starting role and notched three tackles — his second-highest total of the season — and a QB hurry in homecoming win over Samford … made just three more stops the rest of the season, highlighted by two (including a half-tackle for loss) in regular-season home finale against Western Carolina.

High School: Led team with 67 tackles and four sacks as a senior ... high-school teammate of fellow Mountaineer Davante Harris ... coached by Geremy Saitz … was a member of Blythewood’s Army ROTC (captain/company commander).
