BOONE, N.C. — App State Football quarterback
Malachi Singleton has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Offensive Player of the Week after completing 28 of 42 passes for a career-high 331 yards with two touchdowns in a 26-21 win against Charlotte.
Singleton added 14 yards on the ground and even caught a 14-yard pass from fellow quarterback
Henry Hasselbeck in the victory. His second-half touchdown passes to
Chris Lofton and
Jackson Grier extended the Mountaineers' lead from 13-7 to 26-7.
Singleton spread the ball to 10 different teammates through the air, while he himself was App State's 11th different pass catcher on the night. He has ascended the Sun Belt ranks and is currently the league leader in passing yards per game (296.3), total offense (305.3) and pass efficiency (169.3).
