NEW ORLEANS – App State Volleyball juniors MeMe Davis and Raegan Richardson have been named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Tuesday.
The duo helped lead the Mountaineers through a four-match week, playing all 16 sets and guiding App State to three victories. From the back row to the setter position, Davis and Richardson were at the center of App State's success throughout the week.
For Davis, the recognition comes after another standout stretch in the libero's junior season. She set a season high with 30 digs against North Florida and added a career-high three kills against Western Carolina.
Across the four matches, Davis totaled six kills, 15 assists, three service aces and 83 digs. Her 201 total digs this season currently lead the nation, as she continues to anchor the Mountaineers defensively.
Richardson made her own mark during the week, recording the first triple-double of her career at Elon with 10 kills, 32 assists and 10 digs. She also tied her season-high with three total blocks against North Florida while recording 50 assists in the match.
The honors mark the first time App State Volleyball has earned Sun Belt Player of the Week recognition since 2024, when Addison Heidemann earned her second Setter of the Week honor of the season after helping the Mountaineers clinch the Sun Belt East Division.
Tuesday's announcement also marks the first time since 2019 that two Mountaineer Volleyball players have earned Sun Belt Player of the Week honors in the same week.
