Broadbent, Dada-Mascoll Sweep Sun Belt Weekly Tennis Awards

NEW ORLEANS — App State Tennis standout No. 14 Savannah Dada-Mascoll has been named the Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the fifth time this season, while also earning Sun Belt Doubles Team of the Week honors alongside sophomore Ruby Broadbent, the conference announced Wednesday.

Dada-Mascoll, who holds a nation-leading 33 wins dating back to the fall, extended her Sun Belt single-season record to five weekly awards in singles. She surpassed the previous record of three Player of the Week honors, held by Old Dominion's Sofia Johnson (2025) and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya (2023), and App State's Sasha Pisareva (2020).

This marks the second time the Mountaineers have swept the weekly awards this season, with the first sweep occurring Feb. 26, when Dada-Mascoll was named Player of the Week and Taya Powell was part of the Doubles Team of the Week. It also marks the program's seventh weekly award this season, surpassing the previous records of three set in 2024 and 2020, with Dada-Mascoll the common denominator in all seven.

The singles honor for the Yorkshire, England, native follows an undefeated final weekend of the regular season, featuring wins over opponents from James Madison and Georgia State at the No. 1 spot. On Senior Day, Dada-Mascoll defeated JMU's Daria Munteanu in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. She carried that momentum into the season finale, defeating two-time All-Sun Belt Second Team selection Maria Paredes of Georgia State in a three-set battle, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

The doubles recognition follows a crucial victory at No. 1 against James Madison on Friday. Broadbent and Dada-Mascoll defeated five-time Sun Belt Doubles Team of the Week honorees Brooklyn Hoffmann and Sophie Williams, 6-3. Entering the matchup, the duo held a 13-5 record, winning their last two matches.

The Mountaineers look to carry this momentum into the postseason as they take on No. 11 seed Southern Miss in the second round of the Sun Belt Championship on Thursday. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. and the match will stream on ESPN+.

The 2025-26 season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
