Dada-Mascoll, Powell Sweep Tennis Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – App State Tennis standout Savannah Dada-Mascoll and Taya Powell have been named Sun Belt Women's Tennis Players of the Week. Dada-Mascoll, who ranks ninth nationally, earned the honor for singles, while also being recognized alongside Powell for doubles.

The singles honor for the Yorkshire, England, native follows an undefeated weekend at No. 1, where she picked up her fifth and sixth consecutive wins against Austin Peay and Wake Forest. Both matches were decided in straight sets, with Dada-Mascoll only being forced into a third set in only one match this season.

This is Dada-Mascoll's second singles weekly honor of the season and the fifth of her career, most recently winning Sun Belt Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week after taking down All-American Ozlem Uslu of Virginia Tech in the second match of the season.

The duo of Dada-Mascoll and Powell also remained undefeated, picking up their second and third straight wins as a pair. In both matches against Austin Peay and Wake Forest, their 6-3 victories at No. 1 were crucial in clinching the doubles point.

It is the second career weekly award for Powell, a North Tamworth, Australia, native who earned her first during the 2024 season.

App State Tennis will look to carry this momentum to Texas this weekend as it faces Tarleton State at 2 p.m. Friday, followed by an 11 a.m. matchup Saturday against UT Arlington.

The 2025-26 season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
