Track & Field/Cross Country Adds Six to 2026-27 Signing Class

BOONE, N.C. - App State director of track & field/cross country Damion McLean announced the addition of six future Mountaineers to the 2026-27 signing class on Thursday. 
 
"I'm excited to welcome an exceptional group of athletes that are hungry, talented and driven," said McLean. "They will elevate our culture and position our program for success ahead."
 
Hannah Dadie | Sprints | Charlotte, N.C. | Independence
Charlotte, N.C., native Hannah Dadie will join the Mountaineers as a sprinter. She qualified for the 2025 Adidas Nationals in the 100 meters and 200 meters. She also placed third in the 100 meters and 200 meters at the 2025 4A Southwestern Conference meet and was a 4A regional qualifier in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters. Dadie competed in the junior Olympics, qualifying in the 200 meters and finishing as a semifinalist in the 100 meters. Additionally, Dadie competed on the TrackMasterz club team under the direction of Tim Walls. 
 
While in Boone, she plans on studying criminal justice. Dadie has three siblings and enjoys traveling, attending car shows, listening to music and swimming. 
 
Why Dadie Chose App State: "I chose App State because the atmosphere was very family-oriented."
 
Alexis Geiwitz | Throws | New Castle, Pa. | Laurel 
Thrower Alexis Geiwitz will join the Mountaineers next season. The New Castle, Pa., native collected first team all-state honors in the shot put and was the WPIAL and state champion in the shot put. She also was a two-time WPIAL and state qualifier in the discus. Geiwitz, who holds her school's record in the shot put, was also a two-time second team all-conference hitter on the volleyball team. 
 
Geiwitz plans on studying psychology while at App State. She is part of her local FFA and shows animals at the local fair. She also was kicker on her school's football team for two years.  
 
Why Geiwitz Chose App State: "I chose App State for the environment of the team, how welcoming everyone is and how beautiful the campus and the mountains are."
 
Chase McCullough | Throws | Harrisburg, N.C. | Hickory Ridge 
Chase McCullough will also join App State's throws crew. Over the course of his high school career, the Harrisburg, N.C., native collected All-American, all-state, all-region, all-conference and all-county honors. He also was selected as a two-time team MVP. 
 
While at App State, he plans on studying kinesiology. McCullough enjoys weightlifting, traveling, skating, cooking, juggling and meeting new people. 
 
Why McCullough Chose App State: "I chose App State because of the atmosphere they have as well as the family-like culture."
 
Sebla Miracle | Jumps | Asheville, N.C. | Asheville
Sebla Miracle will join the Mountaineers' jumps crew. Hailing from Asheville, N.C., she is a three-time state runner-up as well as a Nike Indoor National freshman runner-up.
 
She plans on studying criminal justice while in Boone. Miracle, who has two siblings, enjoys visual art, doing hair, making music and reading. 
 
Why Miracle Chose App State: "I chose App because of the track community and the campus culture."
 
Beason Tuck | Distance | Greenville, S.C. | Greer Middle College Charter
Joining the men's distance squad will be Beason Tuck. The Greenville, S.C., native was a second-place finisher in the AAA state meet in 2023 and 2025 and a fourth-place finisher in 2022 and 2024. 
 
While at App State, he plans on studying finance alongside his twin brother, Jackson. 
 
Why Beason Tuck Chose App State: "I chose App state because of the business school and the cross country team."
 
Jackson Tuck | Distance | Greenville, S.C. | Greer Middle College Charter
Jackson Tuck will join his twin brother, Beason, on the men's distance team. He qualified for the Nike Cross Nationals, where he placed 51st overall and was the South Carolina 3A Cross Country state champion. Jackson Tuck ranked 31st nationally in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:08 in his junior year. 
 
Alongside his brother, Jackson Tuck plans on studying finance in the High Country.
