NEW ORLEANS – App State Tennis sophomore
Savannah Dada-Mascoll has been named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season after her dominating performance against James Madison's No. 1 singles player Daria Munteanu on March 9.
This marks the third weekly honor in the Yorkshire, England, native's career and the first time in her career that she's been a multiple-time winner in the same season. Dada-Mascoll won Player of the Week honors in Week 4 after defeating Virginia Tech's Katie Andreini 2-6, 6-3, [10-4].
Dada-Mascoll took control early in her first conference match of the season against JMU. She won the first set 6-3, then followed up by shutting out Munteanu in the second set, winning 6-0.
Dada-Mascoll and App State Tennis will host two home conference matches against Georgia State on Saturday and Troy on Sunday. The Mountaineers will then hit the road to take on Louisiana and Arkansas State March 29 and 30.
The 2023-24 tennis season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
