Box Score BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – App State Tennis posted a 4-3 victory over Gardner-Webb for its first road win of the 2024 season and the first road win under head coach

The Mountaineers (3-2) started off the match by winning the doubles point. The No. 1 pairing of graduate student
Maggie Pate and freshman
Taya Powell secured their third win as a team this season by prevailing 6-3 over Gardner-Webb's Emilia Roslund/Valeria Lloclla.
Reigning SBC Player of the Week
Savannah Dada-Mascoll and
Naledi Manyube collected their first win as a tandem this season on court No. 2. The sophomore and freshman pairing defeated Courtney Fyvie/ Alizée Poulin 6-1. The Mountaineers lost on court No. 3, 6-1 to the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Pate continued her dominance in singles play. The Florida native improved to 5-0 this season with her 6-1, 6-1 victory over Lloclla on court No. 3. Dada-Mascoll and Manyube won their singles matches, giving the Mountaineers all they needed to secure their third win on the season.
For the Yorkshire England native, Dada-Mascoll has won two straight singles matches following her 6-3, 6-2 win over Roslund as App State's No.1 player. Manyube won in straight sets both matching 6-1 margins to pick up win number three of the season on court No. 4. Powell suffered her first loss of the season on court No.2 6-4, 7-6 [11-9].

The Mountaineers will travel to Johnson City, Tenn., to face ETSU on Feb. 20. The match is set for 2 p.m. on Tuesday. It will be the third of four matches on the road for App State, which will conclude its road match road stretch on Feb. 25 against Elon before returning home on March 1.
