BOONE, N.C. - Nine Mountaineers were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District Track & Field Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, on Wednesday.

Agee, an elementary education major and special education minor, posted a pole vault personal best of 3.69m (12' 1.25") at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships this season and tallied four top-five finishes during the indoor season. Agee clinched first in the women's pole vault at the App State Split Open. She also notched five top-five finishes in the women's pole vault during the outdoor season, recording a season best of 3.66m (12' 0") at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.
Christy, who competed while pursuing a degree in communications and advertising as well as minors in graphic arts & imaging technology and digital marketing, recorded a personal best 5K time of 18:17.6 at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships, rounding out the top-25 to finish the race. Christy recorded a season best of 18:08.99 in the women's 5,000 meters at the VMI Winter Classic, placing fourth overall. She also appeared in the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, finishing in the top-25 in the women's 5,000 meters. During the outdoor track season, she posted a personal best of 36:49.51 in the women's 10,000 meters at the Colonial Relays and finished second in the women's 5,000 meters at the App State Open with a time of 18:58.22.
Donohue, who is studying nursing, recorded a personal best of 17:01.34 in the women's 5,000 meters at the Raleigh Relays, which moved her to sixth in the App State outdoor all-time list. She also stands sixth in the App State record book in the women's outdoor 1,500 meters with a time of 4:30.77, set in 2022. Donohue posted a personal best of 2:15.52 to place fourth in the women's 800 meters at the App State Open. Donohue finished sixth overall in the women's 1,500 meters (4:35.27) at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships and helped the distance medley relay team to a sixth-place finish at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships. She also represented App State at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships, where she clocked a 5K time of 18:31.4.
While pursuing a degree in criminal justice, Petersen tallied four top-five finishes during the indoor season and five top-five finishes during the outdoor season. Representing App State at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, Petersen posted marks of 12.12m (39' 9.25") and 5.21m (17' 1.25") in the women's triple jump and women's long jump, respectively. She also posted indoor season bests of 5.45m (17' 10.75") in the women's long jump and 11.65m (38' 2.75") in the women's triple jump.
While studying child development and sociology, Plummer set the App State Randy Marion Track & Field facility record in the women's discus with a personal best toss of 39.09m (128' 3") at the App State Open, where she also placed third in the women's shot put. Representing the Black and Gold at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, she recorded a toss of 38.21m (125' 4") in the women's discus. Plummer has tallied eight top-five finishes during the outdoor season and three top-five finishes during the indoor season, including a first-place finish in the women's shot put (11.42m (37' 5.75")) at the App State Split Meet.
Guest, who is majoring in mathematics and earning a general business minor with a sports analytics certificate, represented App State at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in May, as he raced in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing 34th with a time of 9:06.75. Guest earned First-Team All-Sun Belt honors after garnering gold in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best of 8:54.06 at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships. His time moved him to fourth in the App State all-time list for the event. Guest also holds the App State Randy Marion Track & Field facility record in the men's 5,000 meters with a time of 15:52.79. He tallied five top-five finishes during the outdoor season, including a personal best of 4:00.79 in the men's 1,500 meters at the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational.
Lillie is studying exercise science with a minor in chemistry. During the cross country season, he rounded out the top-100 at the NCAA Southeast Regional with a personal best 10K time of 32:02.3. He also finished 20th in the 8K with a time of 25:31.4 at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships. During the outdoor track season, Lillie clocked personal bests in the men's 1,500 meters (3:54.44) and men's 5,000 meters (14:26.49). At the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, he finished fifth overall in the men's 1,500 meters with a time of 4:00.15. In the App State all-time list Lillie stands eighth in the men's outdoor 5,000 meters category.
While pursuing a degree in computer information systems, Teuscher recorded a time of 31:50.63 in the men's 10,000 meters at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships. He also posted personal bests in the men's 1,500 meters (4:11.93), men's 5,000 meters (15:10.02) and men's 10,000 meters (30:58.62) during the outdoor season. During the cross country season, Teuscher represented App State at the NCAA Southeast Regional, where he posted a 10K time of 32:25.9. He also earned Third-Team All-Sun Belt honors after posting an 8K time of 25.07.8 to place 14th at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships.
Wilson-Cook, who is a recreation management major with a sport science and coaching minor, garnered First-Team All-Sun Belt honors at the Sun Belt Cross Country championships with a fifth-place finish and 8K time of 24:28.2. He posted an 8K personal best of 24:23.1 at the Live In Lou Classic and recorded a 10K personal best of 31:01.1 at the NCAA Southeast Regional, where he placed 56th overall. During the outdoor track season, Wilson-Cook posted personal bests of 14:34.45 and 29:53.08 in the men's 5,000 meters and men's 10,000 meters, respectively. He also clocked a personal best of 4:07.29 to place fifth in the men's 1,500 meters at the App State Open. At the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, Wilson-Cook placed fourth in the men's 10,000 meters and sixth in the men's 5,000 meters. He stands third in the App State all-time list in the men's outdoor 10,000 meters category.
To be nominated for CSC Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA at their current institution and have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's contests. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Women's track & field and cross country Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 28 with the men's track & field and cross country honorees to follow on June 29.
