BOONE, N.C. — Akeem Davis-Gaither started at linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week X, and former App State teammate Darrynton Evans has returned to the Miami Dolphins.
The Mountaineers have a Sun Belt-leading 13 alums currently on NFL rosters, and 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks is also an App State alum.
Akeem Davis-Gaither – LB, Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals often start with a 4-2-5 alignment including just two linebackers, but Davis-Gaither joined Pratt and Logan Wilson as starting linebackers in a 4-3 look against Lamar Jackson during a 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Davis-Gaither played 17 percent of the defensive snaps, making one tackle, and 84 percent of the special teams plays.

Evans was on the Dolphins' roster before the short-handed Chicago Bears pulled him away from Miami's practice squad to join their active roster. He rushed for 105 yards on 30 carries (with one touchdown) and caught seven passes for 49 yards in five games before Chicago waived him.
Now he's back in Miami, which placed running back Salvon Ahmed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Jean-Charles appeared on 68 percent of the special teams plays in a 27-14 win against Tampa Bay.
