BOONE, N.C. - The App State women's track and field team is set to host the App State Split Open on Friday. Track events, which will be held in Holmes Convocation Center, are slated to start at 4 p.m. with the women's 5000 meters. Field events, which will be held in Varsity Gym, are scheduled for a 5 p.m. start with the women's shot put, women's long jump, and women's pole vault.

The Mountaineers competed at the Mondo College Invite at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Jan. 14. Freshman
Addison Ollendick-Smith set a new program and meet record in the women's 600 meters with a time of 1:37.90, clinching first overall. The previous App State record was 1:43.2, set by Tania Free in 1991. Senior
Elizabeth Fuller clocked a time of 1:39.98 in the women's 600 meters to finish second at the meet as well as in the App State all-time list for the event. Seniors
Taylor Smith and
Mariah Atwater recorded second-place finishes in the women's 60-meter finals (7.68) and women's seeded 400 meters (58.16), respectively.
Junior
Siby Yao surpassed the meet record in the women's long jump, landing first with a leap of 5.60m (18' 4.5"). The previous record, set in 2020, was 5.59m (18' 4.25"). Sophomore
Daiyanna Cooper garnered gold in the women's weight throw with a toss of 17.00m (55' 9.25") and tied for second in the women's shot put with junior
Megan Plummer, as each recorded tosses of 11.75m (38' 6.75").
Ranked Mountaineers
In the NCAA, Smith ranks 11th in the women's long jump with a mark of 6.15m (20' 2.25"). Fellow senior
Jada Branch checks in at 27th in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.52m (41' 1").
Four Mountaineers stand in the top-five in their respective events in the Sun Belt Conference. Branch and Smith lead the women's triple jump and women's long jump, respectively. Smith also stands third in the women's 60 meters with a time of 7.46. Ollendick-Smith checks in at fourth in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:17.19, while senior
Mariah Atwater rounds out the top five in the women's 400 meters with a time of 57.40.
