The Mountaineers scored all 28 of their points in the second quarter, including 14 off a pair of turnovers forced by the defense.

App State has two home losses for the first time since the 2014 season.
Attendance at Kidd Brewer Stadium was 33,248, the fifth-largest crowd in stadium history and third-largest this season.

KeSean Brown made their first career starts.

Offense
Chase Brice finished 17-of-28 passing for 235 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Ahmani Marshall led the rushing attack with a career-high 40 yards on eight carries.

Kaedin Robinson (five catches) and
Dashaun Davis (three catches) led the receiving corps with 57 yards each.

Camerun Peoples, who did not play after halftime, scored his 30th career rushing touchdown to put the Mountaineers ahead 7-3 early in the second quarter.

Miller Gibbs hauled in his fifth career touchdown catch with a beautiful toe tap in the back of the end zone to give App State a 14-3 lead.

Dalton Stroman gave the Mountaineers a 21-3 lead with his first career touchdown on a 27-yard catch-and-run midway through the second quarter.

Nate Noel punched in a 5-yard touchdown run for App State's fourth straight score with 6:10 left in the second quarter.
Daetrich Harrington made his first start at running back since Nov. 7, 2020 at Texas State — the day he tore the ACL in his right knee for the second time.

Nine different receivers caught a pass from Brice, the fourth time in four games this year that at least nine receivers have caught a pass for the Mountaineers.

Defense
The App State defense allowed JMU to convert just two of its 14 third-down chances, but the Dukes managed to convert three of their six attempts on fourth down.

The Mountaineers broke up five JMU passes.

Nick Hampton racked up two sacks and forced a fumble among his five total tackles. He's now up to 5.0 sacks this year and 24.5 in his career, fifth-most in school history.

Two second-quarter forced fumbles led directly to App State scores:
Trey Cobb led the team with nine total tackles, including 2.0 TFLs, and added a pass breakup and a fumble recovery.

Steven Jones Jr., a preseason All-American, notched a pair of pass breakups in addition to his four tackles.

Special Teams
Clayton Howell averaged 43.6 yards on five punts, including one inside the 20. Only one of the five was returned, for a 4-yard gain.
