Career: 2021 first-team All-American from the Football Writers Association of America, Phil Steele and Pro Football Network, with a second-team honor from the Walter Camp Football Foundation ... Invited to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl … 2022 second-team preseason All-American via the Walter Camp Football Foundation and PFN … Seven career interceptions included five during breakout season in 2021 and totaled 34 passes defended, including 28 over his final two seasons … Career totals include four INT returns for TDs, five total TDs (counting the end zone recovery of his own punt block) and 131 tackles. … In 2021, broke or tied school records for single-season INT return TDs, career INT return TDs, single-game INTs (five-way tie for first) and single-game INT return TDs (four-way tie for first) … Played in 64 career games and made 27 starts at cornerback … Two-time All-Sun Belt defender (first team in 2021, second team in 2022).

2020: Played in all 12 games … A standout as a third cornerback, had 97 return yards on two interceptions, including a 34-yard TD return against Troy, and averaged 21.9 yards on 17 kickoff returns with a long of 41 against Georgia State … Gained 63 yards on an interception near the end zone in the Myrtle Beach Bowl win against North Texas … Finished season with 23 tackles and four pass breakups … Pick-six score against Troy helped give App State a 21-0 lead midway through the first quarter … Career-high six tackles in the bowl win against North Texas … Led App State with 106 all-purpose yards (on four kickoff returns) against Georgia State.

2019: Played in 13 games and started twice, making first career start at cornerback against Coastal Carolina and then starting in the next game at Louisiana … Made seven tackles, including two against Coastal Carolina … Entered 20-15 win at South Carolina for first time with 34 seconds left due to an injury and, matched up with 6-foot-3 star Bryan Edwards, remained in position to force an incompletion near the front pylon … Played cornerback in fourth quarter of 34-31 win at North Carolina and made strong play to defend a post route.

2018: Appeared in all 13 games as a special teams standout and also contributed at cornerback …  Blocked two punts and recovered one for his first career touchdown in the 72-7 win Gardner-Webb … Two punt blocks, which tied the school record set by Dino Hackett in 1985 and Chuck Hill in 1987, made him the Sun Belt Special Teams Player of the Week … Scored App State's first touchdown via a punt block/return since Scott Cornatzer recovered a blocked punt in the end zone against Chattanooga in 2001, blocked another punt to set up another touchdown against Gardner-Webb and helped Clifton Duck return a punt 62 yards for a touchdown with two separate ­­blocks in the middle of the field in that game … Tied for fifth place nationally with two blocked punts/kicks … Had five total tackles on the year (four solo) … Accounted for a career-high two solo tackles at Sun Belt rival Georgia Southern.

2017: One of three true freshman cornerbacks to redshirt.

High School: Rated a two-star cornerback by both 247Sports and Scout.com ...
