MOBILE, Ala. – App State women's tennis fell 4-0 to South Alabama Saturday.
Helena Jansen and Ellie Murphy won their doubles set at the No. 1 court 6-1 for the Mountaineers (5-12, 3-5 SBC) before the Jaguars (18-3, 8-1 SBC) clinched the doubles point at the No. 2 doubles position.
In singles action, Brooke Gruber fell in her match at No. 5 singles before Virginia Poggi lost 7-5, 0-6 at the No. 3 court.
At the No. 1 singles position, Jansen was up 3-1 in her third set when the match was called. Ellie Murphy was up by a set at the No. 2 court and Olwyn Ryan-Bovey was down by a set at singles No. 4.
