BOONE, N.C. - The App State men's and women's track and field team will compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 22-23 in Atlanta, Ga. Three competitors from the men's team will also be competing at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va. on Friday.
GEORGIA TECH INVITATIONAL | ATLANTA, GA | APRIL 22-23
Friday's action will start at 12:30 p.m. with the men's hammer throw, followed by the women's section. Field events will continue at 5:30 p.m. with the women's pole vault, women's shot put, and men's and women's long jump. Events on the track will also start at 5:30 p.m. with the women's 100-meter hurdles. The meet will resume at noon on Saturday with the women's high jump, men's pole vault, men's triple jump, and women's discus. The women's 4x100-meter relay is slated to be the first event on the track at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE | CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA | APRIL 22
A trio of Mountaineers will make an appearance at the Virginia Challenge on Friday. Senior
Isaac Benz will compete in the men's 10,000 meters, which is slated for 9 a.m. Sophomore
Calbert Guest will race in the first section of the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, which is scheduled to start at 4:25 p.m. Senior
Ryan Brown is set for the men's 5000 meters, which is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
App State made an appearance at Auburn's War Eagle Invitational in Auburn, Ala. on April 15-16. Juniors
Eric Haddock Jr. and
Patrick Freeman landed fourth in their respective events, with Haddock Jr. posting a leap of 14.75m (48' 4.75") in the men's triple jump and Freeman recording a personal best clearance of 4.96m (16' 3.25") in the men's pole vault. Freeman's mark moved him to fourth in the App State all-time list in the men's pole vault category. The men's 4x100-meter relay team of freshman

Karsyn Kane notched seventh-place finishes in the invitational section of the women's 1500 meters (4:30.77, PR) and women's 3000-meter steeplechase (11:11.56, PR), respectively. Donohue's time in the 1500 meters moved her to sixth in the App State all-time list in the event. King also posted a seventh-place finish, clocking a personal best of 11.77 in the women's 100 meters.
RANKED IN THE NCAA
After her performance at the Duke Invitational, where she posted a leap of 12.86m (42' 2.25"), Branch is ranked 30th in the nation in the women's triple jump.
SUN BELT STANDINGS
App State has notched a total of 16 top-five rankings around the Sun Belt Conference, with three Mountaineers boasting rankings in multiple individual categories. Brown stands second in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase (8:51.28) and third in the men's 1500 meters (3:49.71). Donohue ranks second in the women's 5000 meters (17:12.76) and fourth in the women's 1500 meters (4:30.77). Guest is second in the men's 5000 meters (14:29.38) and third in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase (9:13.93).
In the women's triple jump, Branch remains second in the Sun Belt with her mark of 12.86m (42' 2.25") and
Hassani Burris retains her third place ranking with her leap of 12.44m (40' 9.75").
Karsyn Kane stands fourth in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase (11:11.56). The App State women's 4x100-meter relay team and men's 4x400-meter relay team are also ranked fourth in their respective categories.
