MONROE, La. — After opening its home schedule Tuesday, App State Softball is back on the road again this weekend for a Sun Belt series at ULM.
Game 1 is scheduled to begin Friday at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT), with Saturday's Game 2 set for 2 p.m. ET and the Sunday finale scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. None of the three games will be streamed, but live stats will be available.
App State's first three Sun Belt weekends have all included out-of-state trips, as the Mountaineers took two of three games from Texas State from March 12-13 and won the opening game last weekend at Georgia State.
Four of App State's last six Sun Belt weekends, including four of the next five, will be in Boone. The schedule was front-loaded with road games, and the Mountaineers were 14-10 overall before they split a midweek doubleheader against Western Carolina in their home debut Tuesday.
App State (15-11, 3-3) and ULM (17-8, 3-3) enter this weekend as part of a four-way tie for fourth place in the Sun Belt. The Warhawks are 4-1 at home this season with a 2-1 series victory against Georgia Southern in Sun Belt play. They went 1-2 last weekend at Troy.
In league play, App State's ERA of 3.22 is tied for fourth among Sun Belt teams.
Taylor Nichols' ERA of 2.55 in conference games ranks seventh in the Sun Belt.
Four Mountaineers are batting at least .300 through six league games:
Baylee Morton (.357, with a .550 on-base percentage),
Kayt Houston (.333),
Emily Parrott (.316) and
Mary Pierce Barnes (.300).
App State swept a three-game home series against ULM last season thanks to a pair of 1-0 wins and swept a three-game series in Monroe three years ago.
