SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
— Detroit Mercy will open its season Saturday against North Carolina Central before facing App State in the next game. The Titans played only four games last season before the remainder of their season was canceled because of health and safety protocols.
— N.C. Central went 1-3 with a win against Towson at an event hosted by USC Upstate last weekend. UMass also participated. Last season, the Eagles were 13-31 overall but went 9-7 in the MEAC and reached the conference title game.
— Presbyterian began the 2022 season by going 1-3 and beating South Carolina State in their finale of the Blue Hose Invitational at home. PC posted a 15-19 overall record in 2021.
