BOONE, N.C. — App State's annual Yosef Club Golf Classic, sponsored by C. Philip Byers and Challenge Foundation Properties, is open for registration. The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 15, at Jefferson Landing Club in Jefferson, N.C.
Byers is the President and CEO of Challenge Foundation Properties. App State Athletics is grateful he and CFP are the title sponsors of this year's event!
Breakfast and check-in will begin at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start commencing at 9 a.m. and lunch following the round.

Registration is $200 per golfer and $750 per team. A golf cart sponsor is $3,500 and a playing card sponsor is $2,500. For more information regarding these sponsorships, contact

The Yosef Club Golf Classic is also providing tee sponsors at $250 and flagstick sponsors at $300. Hole sponsors receive a custom sign placed at a tee box. Flagstick sponsors receive a custom flag placed on the flagstick — flags can be taken home after the event or delivered the following week.
The event will be limited to 24 teams of four (96 total golfers), so interested individuals/teams are encouraged to register promptly to guarantee a spot in the field.
Jefferson Landing pro shop prizes will be given for the top four team scores ($500 - 1st, $400 - 2nd, $200 - 3rd, $100 - 4th) in two divisions (men's division and mixed division), and there will also be awards for the longest drive and closest to the pin. When signing in, in addition to the golf, registration includes a gift bag, breakfast, lunch and the opportunity to connect with App State student-athletes, coaches and athletics staff.
Jeff and Liz Mick will be providing breakfast and the pro shop prizes. The Micks have been providing these donations for many years and help make the Yosef Club Golf Classic a success. App State Athletics thanks them for their support of this event.
Tickets will also be sold for a putting contest and 50/50 raffle, with the winners receiving a cash prize. Various games will be on the course throughout the event, including:
— Ace in the Hole ($20 per person): If you land your ball in a 10-to-15-foot circle around the hole on a par 3, it's an automatic hole-in-one!
— Power Ball ($100): If you purchase one of 50 custom App State golf balls during registration, you can throw the ball with your non-dominant hand after each shot. Once on the green, you must putt from the original spot.
— Birdie Hole ($80 per team): If you land your ball on the green (in regulation), you get an automatic birdie.
Built by Larry Nelson in 1991, Jefferson Landing consistently ranks among the Carolina's best courses. It is located on 170 acres of beautiful rolling hills with seven points and direct access to water on 15 holes. From the longest tees, it offers 7,114 yards of golf with a par-72 layout.
