Women's Tennis Hosts Troy and South Alabama

BOONE, N.C. - After a string of seven straight road matches, App State women's tennis returns home to face Troy on Saturday and South Alabama on Sunday. Both contests will take place at 12 p.m. at the Rivers Street Tennis Courts.

About the Mountaineers
Last Time Out
App State fell to UNCG in a narrow 4-3 loss on Wednesday in Greensboro. The Apps won the doubles point before UNCG claimed four singles matches. In the four contests in which App State fell, three went to a third frame while two Mountaineers came back from a one-set loss. 

A Sweep Would
- Give App State 18 straight home victories.
- Improve App State's record to 6-10 and 5-4 mark in league action.
- Sweep the season series with the Trojans and Jaguars.

Honoring the Seniors
App State will honor the duo of Sandra Anglesjö and María José Zacarias on Sunday before the match. The tandem played a pivotal role in the program's resurgence that led to three straight seasons of .500 or better, 36 wins, a regular-season Sun Belt title, and a Sun Belt Tournament victory in their sophomore campaign. 

Scouting Troy
The Trojans are 6-7 overall and 2-3 in Sun Belt action following a 4-3 loss to Georgia Southern. Troy has struggled on the road this season with a 1-4 mark. Three student-athletes have six wins in singles play in Kristina Kuksaras, AnastasKhoklova, and Michelle Ncube. Troy is 33-36 on the season in singles. ShevitaAulana/MateaMihaljevic lead the doubles attack with a 6-5 record, while the Trojans are 17-21 in doubles overall in doubles. 

Scouting South Alabama
South Alabama is 10-4 overall and 5-0 in conference play. The Jaguars will make their way to the High Country on Sunday after playing Coastal Carolina on Sunday in their first match of the weekend. Yu Fujioka (11-3),  OtohaAoki (10-2) and Nikola Kohoutova (8-3) are a combined 29-8 in singles to lead the team. USA is 50-26 in singles action. Cami Moreno/Yuri Takanishi and Fujioka/Kohoutova are both 7-2 to lead the team in doubles play. AinaBernabeau/Aoki are 6-1 as well. The Jaguars are 28-10 in doubles. 

What's Next
App State will face Coastal Carolina in the final home match of the season on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
