Meet the 2021-22 Signees: Ambry Lucas

BOONE, N.C. - App State softball signed Ambry Lucas on Wednesday, Nov. 10, for the 2021-22 roster.

"I look forward to having Ambry in our softball family here at App.  She is a true team player with a big bat and will give her all for our program.  Her competitive mindset and knowledge for the game will continue to help our team get better daily," said head coach Shelly Hoerner. 

Ambry Lucas will join the Mountaineers after a standout high school career. As a member of Trinity Christian School varsity softball team, the infielder has earned the varsity letter award all four years. As a freshman, the infielder was named Offensive Player of the Year. Lucas was named All-Country and to the All-Region team as a freshman, sophomore and junior, while also being named MVP. 

As a junior, Lucas led the team, recording the highest batting average of .465 and posted a .615 on base percentage.

Lucas is from Senoia, Ga., and attends Trinity Christian School. She played travel ball with the Georgia Academy Power, where she led the team with eight home runs. Off the field, Lucas is a member of the National Honor Society.
