BOONE, N.C. — In Week One of the season, rookie
Akeem Davis-Gaither was on the Cincinnati Bengals' active roster, making his NFL debut against the Los Angeles Chargers.
At linebacker, Davis-Gaither made three tackles and had one QB hurry to force a third-down incompletion for the Bengals. They lost 16-13 against the Chargers at Paul Brown Stadium.
This was Davis-Gaither's first regular-season game after being drafted to the Bengals in the fourth round of the NFL Draft in April. He played 20 defensive snaps and two-thirds of the special teams snaps.
Sam Martin, P, Denver Broncos
Martin averaged 46.2 yards (42.4 net) on five punts and put three inside the 20 during his debut with the Broncos, who lost 16-14 against the Tennessee Titans. He had a long punt of 56 yards and also held on kicks.
Kendall Lamm, OT, Cleveland Browns
Following a knee injury during the 2019 season, Lamm came off the Cleveland Browns' bench and played 16 snaps at offensive tackle in a 38-6 loss against the Baltimore Ravens.
Darrynton Evans, RB, Tennessee Titans
A hamstring injury prevented Evans, a rookie running back, from making his NFL debut on Monday Night Football against the Broncos.
Daniel Kilgore, C, Kansas City Chiefs
Kilgore, who joined the Chiefs late in the preseason, was active for the Chiefs' opener but did not play in a 34-20 win against Houston.
Josh Thomas, S, Buffalo Bills
Thomas made the practice squad as an undrafted rookie safety for the Bills.
Tae Hayes, CB, Miami Dolphins
Hayes has begun the 2020 season as a member of the Dolphins' practice squad.
Ronald Blair, DE, San Francisco 49ers
Blair is beginning the 2020 season on the 49ers' reserve/PUP list as he works to return from a 2019 injury.
Colby Gossett, OG, Cleveland Browns
Gossett, a member of the Browns' practice squad, has opted out of this season.
