GREENSBORO, N.C. - App State men's tennis fell to UNCG in a tightly-contested 4-3 contest on Friday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
App falls to 2-8, while the Spartans move to 3-2 on the season.
The Mountaineers fell in the doubles point while the hosts picked up three of the six singles contest.
Earning the doubles win was

Alex Pavkovich as the third tandem in the lineup, defeating Jack Burkill/Hugh Knapp in a 6-2 decision. The pair are 2-0 as partners this season.
Milo Bargeron notched a second straight win in singles with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph as the No. 2 in the lineup, improving to an even 5-5 on the season.
Zion Heaven moved above .500 to 4-3 in singles following a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 come-from-behind three-set win over Alexander Zuckerman. The sophomore has won his past three singles contests.
Continuing his momentum from last week's clinching win over Winthrop was
Blake Carter, as he dealt Cooper Wyett a straight-set loss as the No. 6, giving the senior back-to-back victories.
UNCG won courts 1, 3 and captured the match on the fifth court in three sets. App State has fallen in three, one-point matches in the last four contests.
App will look to bounce back tomorrow against Campbell at 1 p.m.
