WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –
Peter Kenn won the weight throw to lead App State men's track & field at the JDL Team Challenge on Thursday evening.
The meet was unscored.
The Mountaineers recorded three top-five finishes in the weight throw, with Kenn leading the way. He won the event with a mark of 55-3.75 (16.86m),
Zachary Weinstein was second with a mark of 53-9.00 (16.38m) and
Evan Hardin covered 45-3.50 (13.80m) to finish fifth.
Andrew Underdal placed second in the high jump with a mark of 6-2.75 (1.90m) and
Patrick Freeman cleared 15-5.00 (4.70m) for the second straight meet in the pole vault to finish fourth.
Charles Pace crossed fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a PR time of 9:13.57 and
Zachary Mercer recorded a PR in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.29 to finish sixth.
Dylan Blankenship was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.19 seconds.
App State will now shift its focus to the Sun Belt Championships in Birmingham, Ala. on Feb. 24 and Feb. 25.
