BOONE, N.C. — Week 4 of the NFL season included another head-to-head matchup involving a pair of Mountaineers.

Rookie linebacker
Akeem Davis-Gaither had a hand in a sack for the first time and was part of an NFL win for the first time as the Cincinnati Bengals posted a 33-25 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars' active roster included App State alum and fifth-year safety Doug Middleton, who was signed earlier this month and promoted from the practice squad before the game against the Bengals.

Davis-Gaither and Carl Lawson split of sack of Gardner Minshew on a third-and-3 play in the third quarter. Davis-Gaither finished with two tackles and one QB hurry while playing on nearly one-third of the defensive snaps and 55 percent of the special teams reps.

Middleton appeared on 55 percent of Jacksonville's special teams plays. He began his career with the New York Jets from 2016-18 and played in regular season games last season with the Miami Dolphins and Jaguars.

Sam Martin, P, Denver Broncos
Appearing on Thursday Night Football, Martin punted once for 49 yards and held on kicks during Denver's 37-28 win against the New York Jets.

Kendall Lamm, OT, Cleveland Browns
Lamm participated in eight special teams plays in the Browns' 49-38 win against the Dallas Cowboys.

Tae Hayes, CB, Miami Dolphins
Hayes, who was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster a week earlier, remained a member of the practice squad leading up to the Dolphins' 31-23 loss to Seattle.

Darrynton Evans, RB, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee's game against Pittsburgh has been rescheduled for Oct. 25 after an outbreak of positive coronavirus tests.
Daniel Kilgore, C, Kansas City Chiefs
Kilgore was again active for the Chiefs but did not play in a Monday Night Football win against the New England Patriots.

Josh Thomas, S, Buffalo Bills
Thomas made the practice squad and remains on it as an undrafted rookie safety for the Bills.

Ronald Blair, DE, San Francisco 49ers
Blair is beginning the 2020 season on the 49ers' reserve/PUP list as he works to return from a 2019 injury.
Colby Gossett, OG, Cleveland Browns
Gossett, a member of the Browns' practice squad, has opted out of this season.
