#AppStateNFL Update, Week 6

BOONE, N.C. — Veteran center Daniel Kilgore's first start for the reigning Super Bowl champions served as a highlight for App State alums in Week 6 of the NFL season.

Kilgore signed with the Kansas City Chiefs during the preseason and received wide-ranging praise for his performance as the Chiefs rushed for 245 yards on Monday in a 26-17 win against the Buffalo Bills. The win pushed Kansas City's record to 5-1.

Snapping the ball to star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kilgore played all 73 offensive snaps, and the 245 rushing yards were the most by an Andy Reid-coached team in Kansas City.

Kilgore wrapped up his App State career in 2010 and was drafted by San Francisco.  He played for the 49ers and Miami Dolphins before signing with Kansas City in late August.

Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB, Cincinnati Bengals
Davis-Gaither recorded one tackle, limiting a pass to a 1-yard gain, while playing 41 percent of the defensive snaps and 62 percent of the special teams snaps in a 31-27 loss to Indianapolis.

Darrynton Evans, RB, Tennessee Titans
Last week, the Titans placed Evans on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, meaning he will miss at least three games. Tennessee beat Houston on Sunday to improve to 5-0.

Kendall Lamm, OT, Cleveland Browns
Lamm appeared on special teams as a lineman during the Browns' 38-7 loss to Pittsburgh.

Josh Thomas, S, Buffalo Bills
For the second straight week, the Bills played a game involving Mountaineers on both sides. Thomas remains a member of the Bills' practice squad.

Doug Middleton, S, Jacksonville Jaguars
Middleton remains a member of the practice squad for the Jaguars, who lost 34-16 against Detroit.

Tae Hayes, CB, Miami Dolphins
Hayes remains a member of the practice squad for the Dolphins, who won 24-0 against the New York Jets.

Sam Martin, P, Denver Broncos
Martin punted twice, with a long of 46, and had his other punt downed at the 8-yard line in an 18-12 victory against the New England Patriots.

Ronald Blair, DE, San Francisco 49ers
Blair is beginning the 2020 season on the 49ers' reserve/PUP list as he works to return from a 2019 injury. He is eligible to return in Week 7.

Colby Gossett, OG, Cleveland Browns
Gossett, a member of the Browns' practice squad, has opted out of this season.
