JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- App State women's track & field will return to action on Friday and Saturday at the ETSU Track & Field Invitational. Events begin Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. with the weight throw and on Saturday at 8:35 a.m. with the 3,000-meter run.

App State won the seven-team Appalachian Invitational on Dec. 6 and 7 with 113.5 points. The Black and Gold won five events on the day and broke a school record:

Peighton Simmons is ranked 35th in the nation in the preseason national ratings index in the triple jump. Her mark of 41-10.75 (12.77m) set at the Appalachian Invitational in December earned the ranking. The marks also sits in fourth place in program history.
