BOONE, N.C. — Doug Middleton's signing with the Miami Dolphins was among the Week 3 highlights for App State alums in the NFL.
Days after joining Miami and fellow App State alum Daniel Kilgore, Middleton wasn't active for a 31-6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Middleton was a member of the New York Jets from 2016-18, made four starts and scored a special teams touchdown during his rookie season.

A team captain, Kilgore played all 72 offensive snaps in a 31-6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Ronald Blair, DE, San Francisco 49ers
In helping the 49ers improve to 3-0, Blair recorded three tackles in a 24-20 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in 40 percent of the defensive snaps.
Sam Martin, P/KO/H, Detroit Lions
Martin averaged 45.2 yards on five punts with two kicks inside the 20 and a long of 53 in a 27-24 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. He also kickoff off and served as Detroit's holder as the Lions improved to 2-0-1.
Kendall Lamm, OL, Cleveland Browns
Lamm, who is injured, was inactive for a Monday night game against the Los Angeles Rams.
