Updating #NFLNeers from Week 2

BOONE, N.C. — Another strong performance from San Francisco 49ers defensive end Ronald Blair highlighted this weekend's action for App State Football alums in the NFL.

Blair had a sack and two quarterback hurries through 23 pass-rushing snaps as the 49ers improved to 2-0 with a 41-17 win against Cincinnati. His game also included, according to PFF, three stops in 11 snaps against the run as the Bengals were limited to 25 rushing yards as a team.

For the entire NFL, he made PFF's Team of the Week with a 90.7 grade as an edge rusher.

Blair's sack came on the first series after halftime, giving him 11.5 sacks in 40 career games, and he had two tackles for loss on a pair of running plays on the same first-half series. He finished the game with five tackles and played 50 percent of the snaps.

Miami Dolphins captain Daniel Kilgore started again at center, and Sam Martin of the Detroit Lions had a 44.0 net average on four punts in a 13-10 win against the Los Angeles Chargers. Two of his punts landed inside the 20.

Kendall Lamm, who suffered an injury in his first game with the Cleveland Browns, was inactive for Monday night's game.

Three App State alums remain on practice squads, with rookie cornerback Tae Hayes rejoining the Jacksonville Jaguars, rookie safety Austin Exford rejoining the Houston Texans and the Cleveland Browns signing offensive guard Colby Gossett. Rookie running back Jalin Moore is on the reserve/non-football injury list with the New York Jets as he fully recovers from a leg injury sustained during his senior season.
