WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Appalachian State Athletics has announced an agreement with Affinity Licensing for exclusive representation of the athletics department's trademark licensing services.
App State becomes the 10th university to join Affinity and the third member of the Sun Belt Conference, joining Troy and Georgia State.
"We are excited to partner with Affinity Licensing," Director of Athletics Doug Gillin said. "The App State brand continues to experience historic growth. Affinity is a great partner at a great time for us to keep enhancing our brand locally, regionally and nationally."
As part of the agreement, Affinity will act as the exclusive licensing agency to manage the university's consumer products licensing relationships with manufacturers and retailers. The university will have access to innovative technology and processes that allow for better brand protection, as well as leverage Affinity's retail and merchandising expertise to expand product categories, launch new products and grow retail distribution.
"We are extremely honored and excited about the opportunity to partner with such a great brand and university like Appalachian State," said Wil Spires, partner of Affinity Licensing. "App State continues to experience unprecedented growth and success athletically and academically. We look forward to leveraging our experience and knowledge of their marketplace to help grow the Mountaineer brand."
