She collected 11 hits and nine runs and scored in 59 at-bats that included one double, one triple, three RBIs and six walks. Bloom was also one of two Mountaineers with a triple that season. On defense, she fielded .875 with six putouts, one assist and one error in eight chances.

In her career, Bloom tallied 22 runs in 74 at bats with a .310 on-base percentage. She heads into the final two weekends of the regular season with a .875 fielding percentage.

"Maddy is going to be a success in the next chapter of her life," head coach Shelly Hoerner said. "She has been a dedicated teammate that wants the best for our program and that will be the same for her career as well. "Maddy is behind the scenes making sure everything gets done to make us better. I appreciate how she has taken her role on this team, ran with it and made everyone better. Her impact has helped our success this year, doing whatever it takes for the team. Team over me is Maddy and I respect that very much. I am excited to watch her career in the production industry."

We sat down with Maddy to find out exactly what her favorite moments were during her time at Appalachian.

Q: What's your favorite App moment as a player/student?

Maddy: My favorite App moment was going 5-0 in Charleston at the Holy City Showdown. We played some great teams and really showed everyone and ourselves how good we really are.

Q: Best road trip memory?

M: We had a day off between games against Texas State and the river walk in San Antonio was so much fun.

Q: Favorite Coach Quote?

M: Really just anytime Coach Hoerner tries to argue that Starbucks is better than Dunkin' Donuts.

Q: Favorite/most memorable game?

M: The most memorable game was when Jenny walked off to win the series against ULM last season. It was such a great game and to win that way was great.

Q: What are you going to miss most?

M: I'm going to miss my friends the most over everything else.

Q: What's the one thing you will take away from App?

M: Good things come to those that wait. We stuck out two really tough years for two great years and it was more than worth it.

Q: Final message to team?

M: I can't wait to watch you rise to number one in the Sun Belt. Value softball, but value most the relationships you make with your teammates.
