BOONE N.C. – Appalachian State University women's tennis head coach
Blake Mosley is excited to announce the addition of volunteer assistant coach Donald Marriott to the program.
Marriott joins a woman's tennis program that was 11-11 last season, tying the highest win improvement in the Sun Belt and won its first Sun Belt Tournament match.
"We're very happy to have coach Marriott join our staff," coach Mosley said. "His knowledge and passion for the game will only make us stronger."
Marriott is no stranger to the game of tennis, where he has coaching and playing experience. From 2015-2017, he was the men's and women's tennis coach. Before coaching the Bobcats, Marriott was an assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis programs at High Point during the 1996-97 seasons.
For three straight seasons, Marriott displayed success on the court he was all-conference, while he was a Millis Scholar-Athlete in 1994.
Marriott is also the current director at the Mountain Air Country Club in Banner Elk.
"Having the opportunity to work with the talent and great character that App State women's tennis possesses has been fantastic," Marriott said. "Coach Mosley is a first-class tennis coach along with coach Maddocks. I'm excited to be a part of the continued success the program produces."
