CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's tennis (3-2) fell to No. 2 North Carolina (11-1) by a score of 7-0 on Tuesday evening at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The Mountaineers had their hands full with a UNC squad that boasted three nationally-ranked players in singles action. In addition, the hosts stayed undefeated at home.
App State couldn't get any rhythm going against the Tar Heels in doubles play after having won the doubles point during its three-match win streak.
UNC captured courts No. 3 and No. 1 to pick up the doubles point. Trailing 1-0, Appalachian couldn't get any momentum going in singles play, falling in all six matches.
App State will look to get back to its winning ways on Friday, March 1 at 11 a.m. against UNC Asheville on the road.
