Mosley Adds Selina Atay to Spring Roster

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State women's tennis head coach Blake Mosley has added a future Mountaineer for the spring slate, bringing in
Selina Atay. 

Atay will join seven Mountaineers and a team that is coming off a 15-6 mark with an outright regular-season Sun Belt title. 

A native of Turkey, Atay is the sixth Mountaineer from a different country (Sweden, Mexico, Ukraine, Italy, Serbia). 

"With an ITF Pro Circuit ranking of 1006 in doubles, Selina will be a great addition to our already deep roster," head coach Blake Mosley said. Selina comes from a very disciplined sporting family and will fit in perfectly with our culture."

Atay's highest ranking is a 989 in the ITF rankings in doubles, while she is a rated as a nine in singles in doubles according to UTR (Universal Tennis Rating).  Since November of 2018, Atay sports nine singles victories and seven doubles wins.
