BOONE, N.C. — Homecoming Saturday meant the return of several App State Football alums.
A.J. Howard, who was recently on the practice squad for the Baltimore Ravens, and Doug Middleton, who played recently for the Miami Dolphins, were among the alums in attendance for No. 21 App State's 52-7 win against ULM.
Clifton Duck, John Law and Marcus Cox were also among the visitors to Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Here's a look at how App State's #NFLneers fared in Week 7 of the NFL season:
Ronald Blair, DE, San Francisco 49ers
Blair recorded three tackles, including a third-down stop inside the 49ers' 30-yard line, as San Francisco improved to 6-0 with a 9-0 victory at Washington.
The 49ers are one of two unbeaten teams in the NFL.
Sam Martin, P/KO/H, Detroit Lions
Martin averaged 50.0 yards on three punts, with a net average of 47.0 yards, two kicks inside the 20 and a long kick of 62 yards, during a 42-30 loss to Minnesota.
With 156 career punts inside the 20, Martin passed John Jett for second place in Lions history.
Daniel Kilgore, C, Miami Dolphins
After suffering an injury late in the previous game, Kilgore (knee) was inactive for Miami's 31-21 loss to Buffalo.
Kendall Lamm, OL, Cleveland Browns
The Browns had an off weekend and return to action Sunday at New England.
Two App State alums remain on practice squads, as rookie cornerback
Tae Hayes is with the Jacksonville Jaguars and offensive guard Colby Gossett is a member of the Cleveland Browns. Rookie running back
Jalin Moore is on the reserve/non-football injury list with the New York Jets as he fully recovers from a leg injury sustained during his senior season.
XFL
Last week's XFL Draft included the selection of three App State alums: wide receiver Malachi Jones (Seattle Dragons), offensive lineman Parker Collins (New York Guardians) and cornerback
Clifton Duck (St. Louis BattleHawks).
CFL
Wide receiver Armanti Edwards and linebacker Kennan Gilchrist are teammates for the Toronto Argonauts, and Ed Gainey is a defensive back for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
With two games left in the regular season, Edwards has a career-high six touchdown receptions as part of his 59 catches for 826 yards. Gilchrist's 25 tackles include three sacks, and he has also intercepted one pass.
