Women's Track & Field Returns to Competition at ETSU Track & Field Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- After not competing since Dec. 1, Appalachian State women's track & field will return to competition at the ETSU Track & Field Invitational on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, field events being at 8 a.m. with the weight throw and running events begin at 10:15 a.m. with the 60-meter hurdles prelims. On Saturday, running events begin at 8:35 a.m. with the 3,000-meter run and field events start at noon with the pole vault.

Appalachian State, Carson-Newman, Converse, Cumberland, ETSU, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, King, Lees-McRae, Lincoln Memorial, Louisburg, Mars Hill, Milligan, Newberry, Reinhardt, Southern Wesleyan, Tennessee Wesleyan, Tusculum, UNAT-Maryville, Voorhees and Wofford.

LAST TIME OUT
The Mountaineers placed second of 10 teams with 132 points at the season opening Appalachian Invitational on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. In all, App State posted 12 top-10 finishes across nine events. TOP-10 TIME
With her first place finish in the 300-meter dash at the Appalachian Open, Jelonnie Smith's time of 40.47 seconds ranked as the seventh fastest time in program history in the event.

UP NEXT
The Mountaineers will be idle next week and compete next at the VMI Team Relays on Jan. 26.
