Alisha Josey went 2-3 for the Mountaineers, including a double to center field and a single up the middle.
Avery Wheatley went 2-2 after entering the game at the beginning of the fourth inning. Her two infield singles put her on base for the Mountaineers in the fifth and seventh innings, but the Apps were unable to manufacture runs from the team's six total hits.
The Mountaineers continue the series for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 14, at 1 & 3 p.m. at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium.
