BOONE, N.C. — Kendall Lamm's first start of the 2018 season served as a weekend highlight for Appalachian State alums in the NFL.

Lamm started at right tackle for the Houston Texans in their overtime victory against the Indianapolis Colts. Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Lamm played tough and did a good job before he left the game in overtime with a shoulder injury.

Elsewhere, Daniel Kilgore started again at center for the Miami Dolphins as they suffered their first loss of the season.

Sam Martin averaged 42.8 yards on four punts for the Detroit Lions, drawing three fair catches and putting two kicks inside the 20 in a loss to Dallas. His long punt was 52 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, end Ronald Blair of the San Francisco 49ers had two tackles in a close loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Jets safety Doug Middleton made one tackle in a loss to Jacksonville.
