BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's tennis (3-9) will host North Carolina Central (0-7) on Saturday at 3 p.m. First serve will take place at the Deer Valley Racquet Club.
The Mountaineers are looking to snap a four-match skid against the Eagles. App most recently is coming off a 6-1 loss to Davidson on Sunday. Taylor Bygrave won her sixth-straight match to give the Black and Gold their only point of the match.
Bygrave leads the team with a 6-3 mark after starting the season at 0-3 and has already surpassed her win total in singles from 2016. 
Melissa Machado, Heidi Swope and Megan Mullen still have four wins going into Saturday's contest. Swope and McKayla Zupan continue to lead the team with five doubles wins as a pair. 
North Carolina Central has yet to win a match this season with a 0-7 mark. The Eagles have five student-athletes with at least one win, while Jasmine Gabriel/ Tamara Jeremic have two wins in doubles competition.
The Mountaineers will host Grand Canyon for Senior Day on March 9 at 2 p.m., honoring Mullen, Zupan and Gabrielle Wreder.
