Box Score ATLANTA, GA. – Appalachian State volleyball leaves Georgia with two wins on the weekend, one being a victory over the Georgia State Panthers on Nov. 4 in four sets (25-18, 25-12, 23-25, 25-14).
App State won their sixth Sun Belt Conference match this season to secure a third place ranking in the East Division with a 6-8 conference record. The Mountaineers are now 11-17 overall with three straight wins in Sun Belt play. In addition, App State's win against Georgia State grants them a trip to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Jonesboro, Ark. starting on Nov. 16.
The Mountaineers surpassed the Panthers with the help of 20 kills from
Courtney Sullivan and 16 kills from
Lexi Kohut with 45 assists from
Ashlyn Brown.
Emma Reilly helped on defense with 19 digs. The Mountaineers came together with an outstanding team performance to push past the Panthers to advance their record and earn a spot in the conference tournament.
App State continues their season with just two regular-season matches left. On Nov. 10 App State will travel to Troy to play the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 12, App State will play South Alabama at 1:30 p.m. to finish off the regular season.
