Former Mountaineers in the NFL: Week 2
Former Mountaineers in the NFL: Week 2
Seven Appalachian State University football alumni are currently in the National Football League ranks. Here's a look at how the former Mountaineers fared in Week 2 of NFL action:

• Houston Texans rookie offensive lineman Kendall Lamm made his regular-season NFL debut in his hometown of Charlotte on Sunday. Lamm saw extensive playing time at right tackle after starter Jeff Adams left the game with a knee injury late in the second quarter of the Texans' 24-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

• Jacksonville Jaguars third-year cornerback Demetrius McCray recorded four tackles in Jacksonville's 23-20 home win over the Miami Dolphins. McCray has six tackles through two games for the Jaguars.

• Detroit Lions second-year punter/kicker Sam Martin averaged 44.2 yards per punt in Detroit's 26-16 loss at Minnesota. Martin's four punts included a 53-yarder and two that were downed inside the 20 yard line. For the season, Martin is averaging 39.2 yards per punt with five of his nine kicks downed inside the 20.

• Fourth-year running back Travaris Cadet made his debut with the New England Patriots on Sunday and caught one pass for two yards in New England's 40-32 win at Buffalo. Cadet was inactive in Week 1 after sitting out of most of training camp due to a hamstring injury. Cadet signed a free-agent contract with the Patriots in the offseason after three seasons with the New Orleans Saints.

• St. Louis Rams fourth-year wide receiver Brian Quick was inactive in a 24-10 loss at the Washington. Quick has been inactive for both games this season after sustaining a severe shoulder injury that cost him the final nine games of last season.

• Fifth-year offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore is on the San Francisco 49ers physically unable to perform/reserve list as he continues to recover from a severe leg injury that, like Quick, cost him the final nine games of last season. Per NFL rules, Kilgore is not eligible to return to action until the 49ers' seventh game of the season (Oct. 22 vs. Seattle).

• Second-year wide receiver Tony Washington is a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad.
