BOONE, N.C. - Two-hundred and sixty-four students were named to the athletics department's academic honor roll for the 2014 fall semester, director of academic services for student-athletes Stacy Sears announced on Monday.

Those honored included 198 student-athletes and 66 student athletic trainers, managers, cheerleaders and support staff. To be included on the academic honor roll, a student must have a 3.25 or higher semester GPA while enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours.

The 264 students on App State's athletics' honor roll broke the previous record of 254, set during the fall of 2013.

Of the 198 honorees, 30 student-athletes had a perfect 4.0 GPA last semester.

All of the honor-roll students will be recognized at halftime of the Mountaineers' men's basketball game against Texas State on Wed., Thursday, March 5.
