Men's Track and Field Competes at Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's track and field competed at the Wake Forest Invitational on Saturday.

After a month without any competition, the Mountaineers earned good performances on the day. Senior Raphael Rojas claimed second-place in the 400m dash with a time of 49.96. Ryan Hastings finished in fourth with a time of 50.77.

Freshman Ariel Shores, who won the mile run at the Appalachian Open last month, finished in third on Saturday with a time of 4:37.44. The time for Shores was a personal-best this season.

In the high jump, Cole Finch placed second by clearing 6-2.00 feet. The jump matched Finch's best from earlier this season at the Appalachian Open.

Senior Henry Bustle took seventh in the long jump with a distance of 21-7.50 feet. In the shot put, Nathan Milch set a season-best with a throw of 52-1.75 feet and finished in fourth-place. John Leonard took sixth with a throw of 48-4.75.

The Mountaineers will return to action next weekend when they travel to Johnson City, Tenn. for the ETSU Invitational.
