Team

• Appalachian State moved to 1-1 on the season while Campbell fell to 0-2.

• Appalachian State's 66 points were the seventh most in school history and its most since it scored 70 in a 70-24 win over Wofford on October 31, 2008.

• Appalachian State's 66-point margin of victory was the fourth largest in school history and its largest since beating Arkansas-Monticello, 67-0, on September 27, 1941.

• The 66-point shutout was the first shutout for the Mountaineers since a 41-0 blanking of Mars Hill on September 16, 2006.

• The last time Appalachian State earned a shutout in its home opener was in a 45-0 shutout of North Carolina A&T on September 17, 1994.

• Appalachian State won for the 12th time in its last 14 home openers and moved to 62-20-2 (.750) all-time in home openers.

• Appalachian State moved to 34-1 in its last 35 home games against in-state opponents.

• Appalachian State's 45 points in the first half were the most that it scored in an opening half since it led Western Carolina 45-21 at halftime of a 79-35 win on Nov. 10, 2007.

• Appalachian State moved to 68-12 in its last 80 home games.

• Appalachian State avoided having consecutive 0-2 starts for the first time since 1992-93.

• Appalachian State avoided losing consecutive home openers for the first time since 1982-83.

• Appalachian State moved to 2-0 all-time against Campbell. In the institutions' only previous meeting, Appalachian State Teachers College defeated Campbell Junior College, 20-6, on Sept. 19, 1931 in Boone.

• Appalachian State committed its first turnover of the season when Kameron Bryant was intercepted by Campbell's Isaac Scott late in the third quarter.

• The start of the second half was delayed due to severe weather in the High Country. Play resumed after a 52-minute delay.

• The attendance of 25,861 marked the 52nd time in its last 53 regular-season home games that Appalachian State in front of a crowd larger than the official seating capacity at Kidd Brewer Stadium (which is currently 23,150).

Individual

• In his first start of the season, Appalachian State sophomore running back Marcus Cox – a Doak Walker Award candidate – rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, marking the seventh time in 11 career starts that he has rushed for 100 yards. Cox did not start last Saturday at Michigan after missing nearly two weeks of practice due to a lower body injury.

• Appalachian State junior wide receiver Simms McElfresh caught two touchdowns in the first half – a 12-yarder from junior starting quarterback Kameron Bryant and a 39-yarder from redshirt freshman backup quarterback Taylor Lamb. The two-touchdown game was the first of McElfresh's career.

• Lamb's touchdown pass to McElfresh was the first of his career.

• Appalachian State freshman running back Terrence Upshaw scored the first touchdown of his career on a 10-yard run early in the second quarter.

• Appalachian State safety Doug Middleton scored the second touchdown of his career on a 52-yard interception return in the second quarter.

• Junior defensive lineman Stephen Machanic had the first interception of his career in the third quarter.

• Junior running back Ricky Fergerson scored the first touchdown of his career on an 11-yard run in the third quarter.
