Men's Tennis Opens Home Slate on Sunday

BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's tennis opens its home schedule when it squares off with Lees-McRae at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Deer Valley Racquet Club.

The Mountaineers (0-1) suffered a 5-2 loss at No. 44 UNC Wilmington to open the season on Jan. 19 while the Bobcats (0-1) fell by a 7-0 final at UNC Asheville on Jan. 26.

Sunday's contest is the first of two-straight home matches for the Apps, who will host UNC Asheville at 1 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Deer Valley. The two-match homestand will be followed up by 12-straight matches away from home.

In its last match, Appalachian picked up the doubles point against UNCW as the tandems of Zach Bost/Sebastien King and Oliver Casey/Daniel Hoang picked up wins. Casey grabbed a 6-4. 6-5 win at No. 2 singles for the Mountaineers' only singles point in the match.
