The Appalachian State University men's soccer team will hit the road for a mid-week contest at Longwood on Wednesday. Kick off is slated for 6 p.m.

Last Time Out >>
• The Mountaineers most recently dropped a tough 1-0 defeat at home to Georgia Southern. 
• The Eagles were gifted a penalty kick at the 31:51 mark and Thor Sveinbjornsson converted it for the game-winner.
• App State dominated Georgia Southern in the second half outshooting the Eagles 14-1, including 9-0 in shots on goal.
Stanley Broaden led in shots with five and put one on frame. Trey Hemphill, Keegan Tanaka and Thibaut Arpinon all tallied two shots each.
• Arpinon had a tremendous chance at a goal and kneed a ball that looked to be going in, but was headed away at the last second by an Eagle defender to preserve the shutout for Georgia Southern.

• Longwood comes into Wednesday's match with a 3-10-1 overall mark this season.
• Last year, the Mountaineers pushed past the Lancers on Senior Night with goals from Donovan Japp and Tommy Labriola for a 2-1 victory. Alex Herbst tallied an assist in the game and currently leads the Black and Gold with six assists.
• As a team this season, Longwood has scored 19 goals to its opponents 32, while its opponents have generated 42 more shots, including 40 more shots on goal.
• Zach Crandall leads the Lancers with eight points this season and has collected three goals and two assists.
• Dan Campos has accumulated seven points off of two goals and three assists.
•Carlos Canas has received the majority of the playing time between the pipes for the Lancers and has 50 saves and 24 goals allowed with a 2.11 goals against average. Canas is 2-8-1 and has a .676 save percentage.
• Carl Carpenter is 1-2-0 this season in goal for Longwood and has nine saves with eight goals against. Carpenter carries a 2.72 goals against average with a .529 save percentage.

Sun Belt Conference Accolades >>
• For the week of Sept. 16, senior forward Stanley Broaden and junior defender Alex Beranger swept the Sun Belt Conference weekly awards by claiming Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
• Broaden netted three goals during the week, including two game-winners and his third career multi-goal game of this career.
• Beranger tallied his first career goal while wearing the Black and Gold in the match against Presbyterian. The junior also led a stingy defense that shut out the Blue Hose.
• For the week of Oct. 14, sophomore midfielder Donovan Japp earned Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Japp claimed the award by finishing the week with a goal and two assists. The Oakridge, N.C. native tallied two assists in a 2-1 win over Jacksonville on Oct. 8 and scored his first goal of the season against Howard on Oct. 11.

Stanley Broaden ranks tied for 74th in the nation and first in the Sun Belt for total goals (6), while also ranking tied for 13th in the nation and first in the conference for game-winning goals (4).
Alex Herbst ranks tied for 28th in the nation and first in the conference in assists per game (0.46) and tied for 22nd in the nation and first in the conference in total assists (6).

Shutouts >>
• Appalachian's matches against Presbyterian and Marshall marked the first back-to-back shutout victories for the Mountaineers since the 2012 season.
• The 2-0 blanking of Marshall on the road was the first road shutout victory since a 3-0 win on Aug. 30, 2012 at UNC Asheville.

The Big 425 >>
• The 4-0 victory against Presbyterian on Sept. 12 was the program's 425th win all-time dating back to 1962.
