Five former Appalachian State University football standouts are currently on active National Football League rosters. Here is a look at how the former Mountaineers fared in NFL Week Seven action:
New Orleans Saints third-year running back Travaris Cadet caught six passes for 51 yards on nine targets in the Saints' 24-23 loss at Detroit. Cadet averaged 8.5 yards per catch and halued in a game-long reception of 25 yards.
Detroit Lions second-year punter/kicker Sam Martin punted five times for an average of 42.6 yards in the Lions' 24-23 win over New Orleans. Martin pinned four punts inside the 20 and had a game-long boot of 57 yards. He also kicked off five times with all five resulting in touchbacks.
Jacksonville Jaguars second-year defensive back Demetrius McCray started and made two tackles (one solo) in the Jaguars' 24-6 win over Cleveland.
St. Louis Rams third-year wide receiver Brian Quick caught two passes for 33 yards in the Rams' 28-26 win over Seattle. Quick caught a game-long 19-yard pass on the first play of a pivotal fourth-quarter touchdown drive for the Rams.
San Francisco 49ers fourth-year offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore made his seventh-straight start at center in the 49ers' 42-17 loss at Denver but left the game with a severe leg injury. He underwent season-ending surgery on Tuesday in San Francisco.
Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Andrew Peacock and Jacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver Tony Washington are currently on their teams' respective practice squads.
Third-year wide receiver DeAndre Presely is on the Carolina Panthers' physically unable to perform list. Presely was unable to participate in training camp this summer due to a leg injury sustained during offseason workouts. Players designated for the PUP list must sit out the first six games their team plays. At that point, teams have a five-week window to allow the player to begin practicing and, from the day the player begins practicing, teams have an additional 21-day window to decide whether to activate the player to the 53-man roster. If either of those deadlines pass, the player must remain on the PUP list for the remainder of the season.
