• Appalachian State moved to 2-5 on the season.

• The win was Appalachian State's first over an NCAA Division I FBS opponent since its historic 34-32 victory at Michigan in 2007. Appalachian State had lost 10-straight games against FBS opponents.
• Appalachian State snapped a four-game losing streak and avoided dropping five-straight games for the first time since 1977.
• Appalachian State evened its all-time record against Troy at 2-2 and moved to 2-1 all-time at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Prior to Cox (111) and Terrence Upshaw (111) both rushing for 100 yards against Liberty last Saturday, Appalachian State had not had two 100-yard rushers in the same game since Travaris Cadet (133) and Steven Miller (102) both accomplished the feat against The Citadel on Oct. 15, 2011.
• Appalachian State scored on a safety for the first time since Nov. 21, 2009 against Western Carolina.

Campbell (22 – 1989-92), Richie Williams (22 - 2002-05) and current head coach Scott Satterfield (23 – 1992-95) on the program's all-time rushing touchdowns list.
• With 123 rushing yards, Cox surpassed the 100-yard rushing plateau for the 10th time in his 19-game collegiate career and fourth time in seven games this season.
