SPARTANBURG, S.C. -
Appalachian State University softball sophomore Alissa Schoelkopf was named as the Southern Conference Pitcher of
the Week, the league off announced Tuesday.
Schoelkopf is the first Mountaineer to earn Pitcher of the
Week honors since Hannah Dow on April 11, 2011. Schoelkopf's performance marks

sophomore pitcher is only the sixth player in Mountaineer softball history to
garner Pitcher of the Week honors.

two games from Samford in the weekend SoCon series.
The sophomore pitched 22.0 innings, to post a 1.59 ERA,
allowing only five runs and striking out 15.
Schoelkopf pitched two complete games and eight innings in
relief this past week as she recorded a comeback win against Samford in game
three.
Appalachian State will be back in action on Wednesday, March
20 when they travel to Winthrop for a mid-week non-conference doubleheader.
First pitched is scheduled for 4 p.m.
