BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University men's soccer picks up another more recognition with senior defender Harrison Delbridge picked up another accolade for his strong 2013 campaign.
Delbridge was named to the 2013 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division all-state men's soccer second team.
“Harrison earned this with his hard work both on and off the field and deserves all of the recognition that he has received this season,” said head coach Matt Nelson.
During the season, Delbridge played outstanding defense on a strong backline for Appalachian, while earning Southern Conference first team honors on defense after being a preseason first team pick. Delbridge provided offense from the backline as well, scoring three goals for the Mountaineers, including a game-winner. The game-winner came in a 3-2 victory over Wofford at home off of a free kick that was smoked to the near post. The goal secured a win over Wofford giving the regular season SoCon champions its only loss in conference regular season play.
