Delbridge Named to NSCAA All-South Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Harrison Delbridge continues to rack up accolades based off of his play during the 2013 campaign. Delbridge is being recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America by earning 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I men's all-south region third team honors, announced by the NSCAA on Tuesday.

“Harrison worked hard all season long and and it's good to see him receiving recognition for that,” said head coach Matt Nelson. “He was key for us on defense and provided offensive boosts at times as well. He is certainly deserving of this honor as well as the previous accolades he has received.”

As a senior leader on the backline defense for the Mountaineers this past season, Delbridge earned Southern Conference first team honors on defense living up to expectations before the season when he was named to the SoCon preseason first team. The value that Delbridge brought on defense was heightened by his offensive production in a season that saw the defender net three goals for the Apps.

The Raleigh, N.C. native scored the game-winning goal against Wofford off of a free kick that was blasted to the near post. The goal secured a win over the regular-season champion Terriers and handed Wofford its only loss during regular-season conference play.
